Transformation

TRANSFORMATION

Transformation implies 2 forms, and changing from one to the other. Christians are not only aware of the need which all men have to be transformed from a child of Adam to a child of God by the new birth, but also of the personal need each of us has to be transformed on a daily basis, since we all know that we are very able to act in 2 ways: One is filled with the Spirit with Galatians 2:20 in operation:

"I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me."

The other way of acting is like a selfish child of Adam, if not the very devil himself.

Certain passages of scripture speak about the transformation of the Christian. One passage tells us that "the love of Christ constrains us." Another tells us that we are transformed as we behold the glory of the Lord as in a mirror (2 Corinithians 3:18; compare Romans 12:1-2).

Thus it is recommended that we spend time with the Bible, meditating on passages which speak of the love of Christ, also on passages where the glory of the Lord is revealed, for example Revelation 1, where the risen Christ is described in detail.
