Have club members found a bottom paint that's effective against fouling likely to occur in Lake Erie?
We hauled out a few days ago, and the bottom washing was effective on slime - but there's a small patch of zebra mussels clinging to the keel even after the wash-down.
Thanks Chris - I'll be finishing the clean-up and bottom painting in the spring, and didn't want to have to re-invent the wheel in researching bottom paints. Much appreciated!
Great to hear Eric! It'll be so much easier to research with just a two bottom paints to consider.
I was amazed to hear that boats up the Detroit River don't have much to worry about from zebra mussels, while those that call Lake Erie home are more prone to attachment. My first task next spring will be scrape off those that took up residence on our keel.
