Re: Superbowl

I'm disappointed with his response to the fumble Jimmy, but from the many plays I've seen him make without regard to his safety, I'll have to wait to hear his comments before I declare "gutless".

Seems a little harsh from an armchair vantage point.

Don't forget, I understand Bammer's thought processes when it comes to Cam and the 2011 BCS.

Just ask my cuz what he thinks. He tends to fall on that side of the line too.

Hey folks, it's only football. If there wasn't a ME fan, then being a YOU fan wouldn't be fun.

So cuz, you say Luke Kuechly is selling alarms? Must be a local thing, I've not seen it on a national feed. Must be right up there with Papa Johns on the irritating scale?

Re: Superbowl

I just tell it as I see it. Charles Barkley makes a comment about the show boating. I think it should be out lawed in all sports, of course I from the old school.

Re: Superbowl

I'm sure Barkley would never be guilty of showboating. Kueckly is in an alarm commercial about every 5 minutes on Charlotte local stations and on the cable channels. Yes it is local and I don't have a burglar alarm but the company he touts cannot possibly be any worse than Popa Johns pizza. You could probably get a better pizza from a local joint at Kelly's Cross Roads than at Popa Johns.

Re: Superbowl

I passed through Kelly's Cross Roads about 6 weeks ago and didn't even notice the Pizza joint. Took the back way from my place in Sylacauga back to Panama City. I try to do that about every year or so.

Re: Superbowl

Actually I think it is still on the drawing board. I understand they are in negotiations with Cam for a partnership. Although there are a couple of Strong NFL defensive guys(brothers..names escape me at the moment) who grew up there and could also jump on the money wagon.

Re: Superbowl

We still have a postponed jaunt to Corinth to be completed too!

Re: Superbowl

Where is Kelley's cross road? I have heard of it and I know where it is , but old age has caught up to me.

Re: Superbowl

If you head toward Clanton and take the cutoff at Stewartville and go down through Weogufka you will come out on Highway 22 at Kelly's Crossroads. There is a store and there used to be a huge dead oak tree. Not a teaming metropolis. Turn right at that intersection and you will soon cross the Coosa River into Chilton County and come out to US 31 at Coopers. Right takes you to Clanton for the best peaches in the land. Left takes you to Prattville where their primary produce is future pro bowl football players.

Re: Superbowl

All coming back.
Charlotte and I stop in Clanton every summer going and coming from Florida.
We stop at the Peach Shed for the best fried peach pies in the country.
My brother lived in Gaffney Sc. and this was peach country I didn't think
they were even close to Chilton Co. peaches.

Re: Superbowl

you got that right we bought a half bussel in Gaffney last summer but they were no where near a Chilton County peach.

I sure wish I could get my wife healthy for a few weeks.. She went out for a walk on Thursday and didn't tell me she was going. The next thing I knew she came bursting through the front door holding her left arm and crying I think I broke it. She was in so much pain I couldn't help her a bit so I grabbed the phone and called 911. They came and took her the ER where we spent 5 hours. She had broken her left arm just about 2 inches below the shoulder. The ortho surgeon does not think surgery is needed but said they wanted to give it 6 weeks to heal on it's own before proceeding. She is still hurting and needs your prayers. The black eye doesn't help much when I try to explain what happened to her. Lots of bruises up and down her body from the tumble on the sidewalk.

Re: Superbowl

Horace, I'm so sorry to hear of your wife's injuries. Seems as if it runs in the family. My wife gets well enough after one surgery just in time for the next. I sure hope all this expert Dr's advice that we get, doesn't ultimately prove to be profit driven.

Again , my condolences to Joan, and hopes that she gets well and healthy soon.

Take care,
Chuck

Re: Superbowl

Horace so sorry of Joans injury, I know she will have the best care.
Horace did she fall?
I finish my rehab next week, walking good but have a balance problem, but working on this.
We will be in prayer for joan and give her our love from Charlotte and I.

Re: Superbowl

We go to the gym 3 days a week and work out for about an hour on the machines then some weights. Because of her blood pressure which has settled down remarkably her cardiologist told her 3 days was not enough he said he wanted her to at least 30 mins 6 days a week. She went out for a walk (without telling me she was going) last Thursday and about 2 blocks from the house she triped on something on the sidewalk, fell forward face down but tried to break the fall with her hands. Apparently her left seems to have slid way out to the side snapping the bone in her upper arm about 2 inches below the shoulder joint. I don't know how she made it to house but she did and came in almost screaming in pain. I called the EMS folks who took her to the ER. She is now seeing an ortho surgeon who is treating it by immobilizing her arm. He thinks she has a good chance of healing with resorting to surgery. Prayers will help. Thanks

Horace

Re: Superbowl

By the way Jimmy be careful with that balance thing you don't need any more surgery. These old bones break a lot easier than they used to. Continuing to remember you in prayer.
