Funeral service for Gloria Joan Brewer Pate, age 81, of Alpine will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11AM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Reverend Don Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Pate passed away on July 3, 2016 at UAB Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents: Thad and Myrtle Parker and her husbands: Gerald Brewer and Buddy Pate. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of the Westview Baptist Church and later attended Odena Baptist Church. She retired from Brown Insurance after 37 years. She enjoyed living on the lake and the family would like to thank her niece, Deborah Horton who offered to live with her for the past year so she could have the blessing of staying at her home on the lake. She was an accomplished artist who loved painting nature scenes and old structure pictures such as BB Comer school. She is survived by her son: Donald Brewer and his wife Vickie, daughter: Susan Brewer and her grandchildren: Casey Brewer, Courtney Brewer, Christin Brewer and Kayla Merz.
