Re: Storm

Here in SC we are starting to get rain. The only inundation that we are getting is PEOPLE from the coast, we are 3 hours away. Happy that they are getting out. Looks like the worst of the thing could be along our coast and Georgia. My son and his family in Melbourne sat it out last night. The 145 MPH winds were 112 MPH when they hit Melbourne. I know why. They only lost a palm tree in the back yard. My son, his wife and my grandson of whom I am very proud although he is a gator grad boarded things up and brought in a neighbor and an 84 lady who lives alone in a trailer to spend the night with them. My other grandson lives in Orlando and they were OK. My granddaughter and her husband who live on Jax Beach hightailed it west to spend the night or maybe more with friends away from the storm.

Re: Storm

One of my classmates lives in Port St Lucie and I feared he'd have really bad water, but just heard, he's OK. The storm surge didn't get very far up the river where he lives. Another is living in Columbia, SC and he'll be in for it tomorrow I think. Maybe this thing will tone down before then.

Re: Storm

Hope all is safe and dry after the storm. Let us know.

Re: Storm

We're about 3 hours west of Charleston. No damage here other than a few tree branches snapped off. Didn't see any trees down. I was over at the church in Ft. Mill Sat morn and we lost power but never lost it here at the house. A lot of rain and some pretty high winds but frankly it was all very welcome after the months of terrific heat and no rain. All my family in FL are safe with very little damage at Scott's house in Melbourne, palm tree fell across property wall broke out some cinder blocks which will need to be replaced, no house damage, my grand daughter who lives on Jax Beach came back home and found everything just like they left it. Don't know if any of the winds hit in the GA Mtns or not.
