Hi Mike. Well, I think so. It appears to be some sort of resevoir of vehicles to supply the dealerships, but I am just curious to know the exact details of how it works etc. It's Fiat Clearance that have lost the reg. doc. to my new (1 year old) car and are holding up the sale!
Sounds like a pool of pre reg/ ex demo/ ex press and possibly some repossessions from bankrupt dealer stock. Nothing to worry about, there are probably 000s of them parked up in a compound somewhere - all manufacturers do it. Not unfeasible for a V5 to get misplaced, if the car is registered to Fiat they should be able to get a duplicate within 7-10 days for you
Oh bless! I feel quite sad now. A field full of Cromas all weeping quietely together thinking what could have been.......
I looked at a few Cromas actually. An awful lot of car for the money now. Much better spec than the Multipla. Problem with them was is that they were soleless in comparison to the Panda, Multipla and Punto etc. Anyway, gone a bit off topic there, sorry!
nice cars....apart from 12000 mile from the rear tyers max..(still having a go on this one with FIATS)and silly build issues, screen wash jets that fall apart,,,....then cost mounds of money to fix.....ECTECT
12,000 miles from rears! Blimey. Multi's eat front tyres at about 7,500 if you don't set tracking to zero but rears go on forever and day. 12,000 is awful. Six months motoring to me.
Hi
I have a 1999 xreg 1.9jtd 107k Multipla and have done about 4.5k and we are showing hardly any wear on the fronts, ie they were about 4mm and are now about 2.5 to 3mm.
what brand or tyre are you wearing and how do you drive it local/motorways?
Tim
Hi there. I do about 2000 miles a month mixed mileage. It was and is still tacking issue. If you look on http://www.fiatforum.com/multipla/ or http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/multiplaowners/
there have been all sorts of trouble with tyre wear. Also excellent sites for Multi info.
Basically the best way to solve it have a regular tracking check and have the tracking set to zero when it needs adjusting.
I originally was getting through tyres every 7,500 and my local independent garage eventually loosened off both sides and reset tracking properly. Next set of tyres I got over 20,000 out of!
I used cheapies in the end due to my monster mileage. Probably could have used better branded tyres in the end but I ate a pair of Goodyears in four months initially!
in the waffal from FIAT, 12000 mile is normal for a modern car........ and for a CROMA the norm! hahah [:-
for which they have even put the fact in writing....so they sell a car which is,as it has turned out not what i have been used to :IE well built, dont eat rear tyres, i gather the car was built on the "cheap" which is starting to show, hope some body from FIAT reads this as will i be buying another FIAT......... |]
The only thing I can suggest is four wheel alignment.
I think Mk 3 Escorts had a rear axle 'hopping' problem which could only be sorted through four wheel alignment.
My brother's 1.6 Ghia was bloody lethal at speed if you drove it enthusiastically. Threw its a r s e out like a disgrutled, surprised and poorly paid female porn star! (Google 'Guage' and 'porn' and go to wikepedia link. She's lovely. But I digress, cough, cough, ahem, etc.)
I'm clutching at straws here for you. Never completed my Btech in motor vehicle engineering cos I went a bit mad.......
Mind you, there's some girls and their mothers around here that'll tell you I still am......
12,000 mles on the rear.... Jeez, buy a Multipla and there are at least more than 1200 people in the UK to console you! Lol!
Incidentally, if my memory serves me right, Fiat Belgium accepted that there was a front wheel tyre wear problem on the Multi and agreed to pay half of the front tyre costs to the owners for the rest of the vehicles life!
In case you are wondering why I spelt a r s e with a gap in my previous post, it's because if I don't and try to spell it with the right spacing, ie arse, well you can see what happens. Look at Guage and wikepedia all the same, if the wife'll let you!
Cough, cough, ahem etc. A mate told me, you know, ahem........!
Jo, don't read this, I'll go down in your estimation...... Lol
