Hi to all, its a nice day, me out cleaning and polishing the 125, ready for Auto Itlia, might take the old girl out for a run later, (not more then 55mph!)to sum it up....a happy day!
AI is far too far away to start polishing! I gave the Palio a blast down to Thames Fiat in Slough at the weekend (to charge up the battery & dribble over Abarth 500 & Punto ).
It's now back in the garage looking a bit "motorway worn " but all the better for it. Held er well, a bit more than Neil takes his 125 up to(!!) from Wycombe East to Handy Cross (and accelerated a bit) - if anyone knows this, getting outside lane speeds (ahem!) up here is good for a new car, let alone a "mere" 1049cc from 30 years ago. . Actually I am starting to wonder why it's so quick - the 70hp Sport struggles to maintain 70 up that stretch, and the Panda would be down to 60.........
still on 35mm! drop me an E Mail,
it a 4 speed model, basic car, (not a 125S 5 Speed,)
am having work done on the 2300 saloon, which is the normal car i use for you event, but not sure will be readey in time, so 125 is its stand in!
I'd love to yours Mound, in fact I was thinking about it only last week as I was down at Llandow and on the beach at Llantwit major Major!
Great little circuit with a superb surface.
Isn't there an immaculate dark blue 125 knocking about somewhere in this country too?
There was one belonging to a Club member - somewhere on the South coast I think. Sold a couple of years ago before I could get to it.........!!! Don't know where it went or if still in the Club - anyone??
the blue 125 lived in Sidmouth, it was sold (just missed it by a day!)dont know what happened to it, was also a Red 125S about, havent seen that one for a few years,
As Michael said, it was immaculate as far as I could see. At the time I had the space to keep it and the asking price sat burning a hole in my pocket . Sadly it was sold before Neil or I could buy it......
Hope you don't mind me "cutting in" and bringing up an old post, but Neil's comment "still on 35mm" reminded me how much more I enjoyed using my Pentax K1000 with manual adjustable lens and so on, compared to these ubiquituos digital cameras of today. My better half, also recently mentioned that larger branches of Boots the Chemist, where she works, can transfer large quantities of pics onto one disc for just a few quid. It's back to the Pentax for me then. Heres some old archive pics which I recently transfered.
Another thing we have in common Marty (no, not the Jason King thing!).
I had a Pentax K1000 too about 30 years ago. A pal bought it from me when he went to art college and they told him he needed a decent manual SLR with no gismos on it. He asked for an example and they told him "K1000".
I upgraded to an MX (still a manual clockwork job) with no gismos (got a built in light meter that you can ignore if you want) and works fine when the battery's flat, unlike the Fuji DSLR I have now which eats through batteries like an electric fire.
Still got the MX and lenses (50mm 1.7, 28mm 2.8 and 80-200 3.5 M-series), they're really nicely made pieces of kit, camera and lenses. Hardly use them at all but they're nice things to own all the same.
still like 35mm, makes me think about Photos, and taking then, modern ways, yes good, but do you think about the end photo? this is why i still like 35mm!
Neil
I tried a Minolta 7000 (I think??) more automated, with lens priorities etc;--couldn't get on with it at all, the thing broke down( I bought it 2nd hand anyway)so ended giving it away in local paper. When I later found owners manual, and advertised that in same paper, the same guy who had the camera also answered the ad,; and collected the manual!
Much prefer older manual cameras for the same reason I like older cars I guess!!
