Obituary. I received a letter from an old ASA friend\'s wife over the holidays. James W. Fagan passed awat on July 12, 2020. He spent thirty years in the army. First as an enlisted man and after being separated was an civilian army employee. At Ft. Devens he and I were friends. Our enlistments overlapped and when I was separated in May, 1965 he still had some months left on his enlistment. At the ASA school he was in the computer section and he followed that line of work during his years as a Department of The Army civilian.

He and his wife, Helen, lived in Fort Mill, SC at the time of his death caused my lymphoma. He was 80.

My uncle, John M. “Jack” Wallace, III, was the commanding officer of the 156th Aviation Co. (RR) in 1970-71 at Can Tho Army Airfield. I have a photo of him and Sgt David W Alley in front of HQ in that timeframe if anyone is interested.

Looking for Maurice G. Jones and/or Billy Mehaffy both Warrant Officers in Augsburg 69-71-ish. Served with both while in Augsburg with 507th USASAGP. Came from Arlington Hall. What a ride! Great people, saw some stuff, did some stuff. Dugent/Flammer/Thomas/Hobbs/Webster/Kretschmer (lives in Australia!)

My Grandfather was stationed at Vint Hill from \'61 to \'64. He never said a word about what he did in the ASA. A few commendation letters and photos are all we have to go by. Your library has taught me a lot. Thank you.

I am trying to locate someone who served with my brother, Carl D. Williams, in Germany during the period 1958-1960. His DD214 lists his last assignment as being the 507th USASA Group, but he was probably in one of the Battalions, perhaps either the 318th (Herzogenaurach) or the 320th (Bad Aibling). He was a SP-5 Russian Linguist. He was honorably discharged in 1960, and died in an auto accident in 1963.
I followed in his footsteps as an ASA Russian Linguist and Traffic Analyst, entering the Army in 1965, attending DLIWC, serving overseas and completing my uniformed service in 1975, having served in Japan, Vietnam, Korea and Germany, before a final assignment at NSA.
